Our name, Amrutha Bindu, is inspired by the tale of Samudra Manthana from the Vishnu Purana. In this myth, the Devas and Asuras churn the ocean of milk to uncover hidden treasures, including amrutha—the nectar of immortality—symbolising freedom from pain and despair. For us, this churning reflects the inner journey of yoga: when all aspects of ourselves come together, a deeper consciousness is revealed. In Hatha Yoga, amrutha is the subtle nectar of the Bindu chakra, believed to awaken clarity and vitality. Amrutha Bindu is our call to seek that essence within.

Having taught in many yoga schools and chains for over a decade, our founders, Sandeep & Medha, founded Amrutha Bindu Yoga in 2014 and built a yoga school that would embody the authentic forms of yogic and tantric philosophies and make them accessible, methodical and easy to understand and apply. Today, Amrutha Bindu Yoga is home to a versatile bunch of passionate and qualified teachers who exemplify the contemporary understanding of yoga whilst honouring the path shown by classical yogis.
