We often work towards goals that are small, near-sighted and immediate without knowing it. During Winter season, our body and mind become tamasic (dull and heavy). We have a tendency to be lethargic and morose as our metabolism drops.

As spring approaches, the Sun starts to take over. Ratha Saptami is celebrated as the day that the Sun guides us from darkness (tamas) to light (sattwa). On this day, we invoke the Sun in us through the practice of Suryanamaskara.
