During Winter season, our body and mind become tamasic (dull and heavy). We have a tendency to be lethargic and morose as our metabolism drops.

As spring approaches, the Sun starts to take over. Ratha Saptami is celebrated as the day that the Sun guides us from darkness (tamas) to light (sattwa). On this day, we invoke the Sun in us through the practice of Suryanamaskara. The Sun responsible for our good health, vitality, and nourishment and the practice of Suryanamaskara helps us tap into solar energy present in us.
